Process

·        Look around for suspects if the incident is just taking place. Take note of what suspect(s) are wearing and driving. Do not pursue the suspects!

·        Call the Police if items are believed to be stolen.

·        If theft occurs off RL campus, ask the property owner/manager or a nearby business for camera footage. The police department will do this for us if a police report is filed.

·        If theft occurs on a RL property, review RL camera footage. Give a copy of the footage to the authorities.

·        Look at the list of assets assigned to the truck in Asset Panda, determine what assets are missing or run an asset audit in necessary using the Asset Panda phone app.

·        Give the Serial Number, Make, Model and value of stolen items to the police officer that is handling case to enter in their database and to the BA to enter in the RL incident report. If the equipment was left on a property, and not believed to be stolen, do not file a police report.

·        Submit the RL incident report in Cognito with photos and any other helpful information for law enforcement to retrieve the stolen equipment.

·        Send the stolen Asset Numbers to the Fleet/Asset Manager to be removed/disposed from Asset Panda.
