Title and Description

·        Equipment Preventive Maintenance (Mechanic)

A guide for our mechanics to maintain and protect our assets through preventive maintenance.

 

Responsible Department / Personnel

·        Shop Department

o  Mechanic

 

Completion Time and Frequency

·        Trucks- Every 4 months

·        Skids- Every 4 months

·        Trailers- Twice a year

·        Mower - Once a year

·        Small Engine - Twice a year or every 4 months

 

Process

Exmark Mower Full Service

·        Inspect the overall condition of the machine.

·        Change engine oil and filter if needed.

·        Replace air filter, pre filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs if needed.

·        Check and clean fuel system.

·        Inspect charging system and electrical components.

·        Adjust cables and controls.

·        Tighten all loose bolts and hardware.

·        Inspect belts for wear and tear.

·        Inspect tire pressure.

·        Adjust hydro drive tracking and neutral position.

·        Grease all fittings, inspects deck spindle bearings, all idler pulleys, and gauge wheels.

·        Level the deck.


 

·        Scrape under deck.

·        Check all operations.

·        Clean and touch up paint machine if needed.

Stick Equipment

·        Remove and grease tube’s inner rod.

·        Grease head.

·        Clean or Replace/Air Filter/ Sparkplugs.

·        Clean excessive debris(Carburetor cleaner)

·        Adjust valves and replace valve head cover gaskets if equipped.

·        Adjust Carburetor.

·        Sharpen (Hedge Trimmer)Blades

 

Backpack Blower/Chainsaw/Tiller

·        Remove shell cover an clean excessive debris.

·        Adjust valves/Replaced valve cover gasket if needed.

·        Clean or Replace/Air Filter/ Sparkplugs.

·        Adjust Carburetor.

·        Adjust the trigger.

Trucks

Exterior

·         Inspect windshield for cracks.

·         Look for any visible new damage.

·         Windshield wipers and blades are fully functional.

·         Headlights and directional lights intact and fully functional.

Tires

·         Tires are free of any cuts, bubbles or cracks.

·         Tire air does not look low.

Engine

·         Free of fluid or oil leaks.

·         Battery terminals free of corrosion.

·         Oil dip stick free of dark, black oil.

·         Free of odors while engine is running.

·         Exhaust pipe emissions are neither blue (indicates engine burns oil) or black (indicate excessive oil consumption).

Suspension

·         Visually inspect suspension.

·         When bouncing the vehicle's corners, no creaking noises are made.

Interior


 

 

·         Cleanliness

·         Accessories operating, Radio, Windows, Lights.

·         Lacks a heavy scent of air freshener (may indicate something is being concealed).

·         All gauges are working.

·         No dashboard warning lights remain illuminated.

·         Heater works.

·         Air conditioner works.

·         Windshield wipers work.

·         Windshield wiper fluid dispenses properly.

·         Power windows operate properly.

·         Headlights, including bright, work properly.

Frame

·         Visual inspection.

·         Grease KinPins, Drive Shaft and other grease points.

·         Under Carriage visual inspection.

Automatic Transmission

·         Transmission fluid looks clean, not dirty or gritty (dirty indicates possible internal transmission problem).

Brakes

·         Inspect brake pads.

·         Adjust Rear Brakes.

·         Parking brake engages and disengages freely.

Steering

·         No clicking or clunking when turning.

Miscellaneous

·         Vehicle Registration in cabin along with DOT-DVIR Driver Vehicle Inspection Report

·         DOT sticker.

·         Russell Sign, For Hire Sign and Caution Sign (Yellow).
